American Habilitation Services has been notified by Innovative Futures, Inc (a not-for-profit agency that has worked with AHS in Corpus Christi at the Purple Elephant) that they have set up a fund to help people affected by Hurricane Ike.

The funds will be used to help staff and their families get back on their feet after the devastating impact they experienced during this storm. As you are all aware, many of your colleagues lost part or all of their homes during the Hurricane.

Funds are now available for redistribution and individuals seeking assistance should complete the attached form and fax it to Innovative Futures at 1-866-702-2165 by October 15th. The form includes the guidelines for how support will be distributed.

Many thanks to all of you who have already made a donation - and a special thanks to Best Med Inc. of Brownwood, Texas, CapGrow Partners, LLC and Kaeser & Blair for their extremely generous gifts to this fund.

Please send your contributions to the AHS central office in Austin (1601 West 6th Street, Austin, TX 7703) attention Peter Orona.  Any donations are gladly accepted and employees may also do a payroll deduction (form attached below) to make a contribution.

All contributions will be tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
