Self-Determined for Texas is a statewide volunteer organization that provides up-to-date information to Texans with disabilities and frail elderly, their support networks and professionals on publicly funded Medicaid waiver services to accomplish self-determined lives. They have an extensive information network and hold frequent workshops and training sessions on a variety of topics aimed at assisting individuals to accomplish their personal goals.

The American Assocation On Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD)
The American Assocation On Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) is a professional association run by professionals who support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is a 130 year old organization and was formerly known as the American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR). It changed its name to the AAIDD in January 2007 to reflect a national effort to me more person centered when addressing people with intellectual disabilities.
