Safety as a Priority...

Beginning in 2006, AHS started a program that rewarded its employees when they worked together to create a safe workplace that was free of "on the job" injuries. As a result of this successful program, AHS was recently recognized by its Worker's Compensation carrier with an over-all reduction in the premiums they paid for such insurance coverage.

By 2007, this prorgam was successful enough, that AHS hired a full time Property and Risk Manager, Lance Nauman, who had years of experience with Wells Fargo in the area of creating a safe and healthy workplace. Mr. Nauman is now working with every one of our programs to ensure that the people we support are living in homes which meet, and whenever possible, exceed the standards established by the State's licensure system. This includes finding ways to improve the physical structures of the homes, teaching staff to improve their driving habits and how to always use proper techniques when assisting each consumer.

This year's award winners strive to make our workplace Safer - while at the same time are helping consumers and their families to better undestand safety and risk.
