At AHS we want to know about you. What are your desires, hopes and dreams for the future? We will help you build a plan based on what you want for your life, using the resources we have available and funding mechanisms we can access on your behalf.

How can we help you live your life the way you want?

AHS wants to work with you, your family and whoever you choose to develop a person directed plan. Through this collaborative team process a service array will be developed that supports you in achieving your goals. We believe the most important assessment tool is the story of your life. What school do/did you attend, what did you learn, do you need help communicating, what are your health needs? What is your history and what have you liked and not liked in your life. What would you like to do more of? These questions and more provide a basis for your life plan.

Throughout most of Texas, AHS provides support and services to persons with developmental disabilities. We have service agreements with most of the local authorities and contracts with Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services for the Home and Community Services program (HCS); Texas Home Living Services; CLASS Direct Services or Case Management Services, and Intermediate Care Facilities for persons with Mental Retardation (ICF/MR). American Habilitation Services, Inc. is about to conduct its Strategic Thinking session in January 15th and 16th of 2013. As you may know, AHS has been on the journey of becoming a Person-Centered organization for the past several years and the time has come to strengthen our efforts on this path. We want to be certain that we include as many people as possible in the process of collecting some very important information. The link to the attached survey is the first step of our Strategic Thinking process and we invite you to join the conversation. You will not be identified by name, only by stakeholder group.
