1.  How is AHS regulated?

AHS receives ongoing monitoring and licensure through the State of Texas. All of our licenses are current and we work well with the State's regulatory sections to assure that we meet all applicable license requirements




2.  How does a person become eligible to receive services or supports from AHS?

To be eligible a person should work with their local State of Texas Mental Retardation Administrative Office(MRA Office).

3.  I am interested in receiving supports from AHS but I do not see that you provide any services near where Ilive. Is it possible for you to develop something in my area if I am eligible for services through the MRA?

4.  Who pays for the supports I would receive from AHS?

If eligible (for instance if you are on SSI), Medicaid may pay for your services. To determine this please contact your local MRA.




5.  I have several health problems. Can I still get supports from AHS?

Yes. AHS takes great pride in our ability to coordinate all your health care needs with your other Medical Providers. For instance, dependent on the Person Centered plan you develop with us, we often can provide additional nursing services as recommended by your medical provider.  See additional information under the "Getting Healthy and Staying Healthy" section of this web site.




6.  What do you mean by "Person-Directed Services"?

One size often does not fit all. Therefore AHS is committed to providing you with quality supports that are designed with you  input so that we may best help to meet your needs.  With this mind, AHS offers a number of programs aimed at assisting  you in achieving your goals, hopes and dreams.




7.  Does AHS have any written materials that describe their HCS services, or that describe the differences between an ICF-MR and HCS home?
